About Cogis
Cogis is the Dutch expertise center for the psychological and social effects of war, persecution and violence. Cogis is a partly government funded foundation.
Our aim is to prevent any sort of violence from having detrimental effects on the psychosocial wellbeing of individual people, and the people they live and work with.
Cogis offers programmes for professionals, volunteers and carers who work with clients affected by violence.
We also work for professionals who are faced with aggression and violence in their own everyday work.
To attain this Cogis offers:
- training programs for professionals and volunteers
- peer counselling and support groups
- conferences in the state of the art of current topics, reflecting the latest scientific and practice-based insights
- a specialised library
- the quarterly journal Cogiscope
- applied research for policymaking, in close cooperation with universities and experts in the field of psychotrauma treatment
Cogis combines its expertise with that of a widespread network of experts and professionals in the field of psychotrauma.
